Listen to the sounds and letters of the Māori alphabet. (Play CD clip Alphabet sounds in Māori – including long and short vowel sounds)
Say the sounds in the pauses as you follow the letters. Practise saying the sounds by yourself or to your supervisor.
When you are confident with the tune, watch Waiata clip 1.
